went to the airport. i was late. >.< snapped a group photo at the airport. realised that i forgot to bring my camera after i reached the hotel - golden holiday hotel. felt a tinge of sadness. :( imagine! 10 days away from singapore and yoo forgot to bring ur camera and its the first day u realised it! =(
saturday [[18/11]]
ate breakfast at the hotel. i ate 'dou jiang you tiao. food there quite oily and salty ehh. took a bus and reached the school; No. 3 middle school ZhuHai; zhuhai shi di san zhong xue. school damn big ehh! 0.0 met our respective buddies for the first time. mine was called wang si. gave me an impression of a guai guai look. :] followed after, we went to some places which the school organised with our buddies - vegetable farm, historical places of zhuhai, etc. after that, we went to our respective buddies' houses to stay - 2 days and 2 nights. wang si; sissie, together with her parents; brought me to a cantonese restaurant for lunch - ordered a lot of tim sum! =) around 3+, sissie brought me to 'ji da'to shop shop. before that, we went to the largest bookstore in zhuhai. i bought two books - 'goong- ye man wang fei 2' and 'hui you tian shi ti wo ai ni'. followed after, we went shopping at the department stores and dropped by the museum before taking the public bus back to her house. ate dumplings and tofu for dinner - and i tried wrapping like some dumplings, but it seems like a piece of shit; not dumpling. XD felt so remorseful, i cant even speak cantonese lah. :( called boatyng to come over to play. [our buddies live just a building away] was shocked upon hearing that she had jus vomitting and was crying while talking to me. she almost scared me out of my wits! -_- sissie and me chatting about everything under the sun till the wee hours around 1am. Lolx. :]
sunday [[19/11]]
i woke up as early as 9am. was afraid that everyone had woke up but heaved a sigh of relief after realising that they haven woke up. actually, sissie had decided to bring me to climb the mountains together with dena and jinjin [her buddy]. but not quite sure wads the reason, the trip was cancelled. so i spent the morning together with sissie and her father, touring around almost the entire zhuhai, explaining to me the historical background and facts about zhuhai. snapped a lot a lot of photos. :] ate lunch - noodles together with tomatos and vegetables. from 2pm-5pm. sissie and me are spending time reading the books we've bought yesterday. actually she intend to bring me to gongbei. however the journey from her house to that place was far too far. thus, we stayed at home. at night, sissie and her parents brought me to a restaurant near macau to eat steamboat. on our way there, we snapped some photos too~ ate a lot of 'hao' - first time eating; taste not bad lah. the night scenery of zhuhai was so beautiful! <3>
monday [[20/11]]
had to woke up early to go to school as there is a flag-raising ceremony every monday morning. ate a bread and drank a packet of milk b4 taking sissie's father's car to school. we were late! run ah run ah run. went back to classroom to put down our bags, luggage and stuffs b4 'running' up to the mountains for the flag-raising ceremony. wah i almost died during the journey. lol! my legs went numb. x.x actually i thot it was a serious ceremony, however, some students behind were playing, making noises and not standing at attention. followed after, we went for a briefing by the principal of the No. 3 middle school zhuhai at the conference room. next, we went to attend lessons together with our respective buddies. the class i was in was 408. their one period lasted for 40 minutes and after every one period, there's a 10 minute break. cool right? they even have a sleeping time of around 2 hours. their lessons are all in chinese yeah. so chim like... finally after the last period, it was a free period that we can do anything that we want. so we went to play basketball with some of the china peeps and some of our students. have lotsa fun. injured my hand. too 'chor lor' liao. XD ate our dinner at our hotel. after that, we played pokka cards - 'dai di' together with some guys - wanning, ginnmin, eileenlim, eunice, sarah, gwyn, kelvin. as girls cannot go to boys room and vice versa, thus, we played at the corridor. lol! laughed like nobody's business. went to sleep after that. around 1.45am? lol
tuesday [[20/11]]
tired eh. normal routine- brush teeth; wash face; ate breakfast. same breakfast as b4, 'dou jiang you tiao'. attended their lessons. took a group photo together with our china peeps and china teachers and principals. during their napping time, we went back to the conference room as not to disturb them as some prefer to remain in school; some went back home; and some went back to their hostel. we used the time to practise our singing and dancing item which we will be performing at the farewell party on saturday. those people that participated at the singing have to sing two songs - 'xi shuai chang liu' and pass it on. those people that participated in dancin have to dance a malay dance which depicts a malay girl too obsessed with her love affair or smth ba. not quite sure too. :] after their last lesson, dena and me went off with our buddies to watch them practise for their sports day - on thursday and friday. the item that they participated in, was, a line of people tying up their legs together and walk + run. this requires strong teamwork. i learnt new words from preventing us saying vulgar words directly. 'f cha cha k' = f**k. and 'l cha cha e' = l**e and 'u cha cha y' = u**y. LOL! guess those words ehh. :] oh gosh! 0-0 after this, we went back to our hotel and ate dinner. we played 'dai di' at the corridor as usual till 12.45am. this time we slept earlier.
wednesday [[22/11]]
today damn tired. as usual, brush teeth, eat breakfast blah blah. attended lessons. i almost slept throughout the whole day lah. i cant even open my eyes. =X always dozing off. zzz. during their napping time, we went back to the conference room again to practise, sleep, play and some writting their journal. we attended arts lessons - drawing and singing. have lot of laughter. during the last lesson, we went to play basketball again. whee~! this time, the basketball hit my mouth and my lips bleed. that time is my hand kanna hurt, this time is mouth, den next time i wonder is which part of my body. head? later head concussion. lol! after school, we went to a restaurant to have our dinner. at first we thot we went to the wrong floor as we saw a pair of newly-wed couple standing right infront of the lift. 0.0 stunned. went back to the hotel and played 'dai di' again. lol. later people see, think that we students are opening a gambling den. lol. whenever our teachers come near to us, we hide the pokka cards aside [i hide it under my foot. LOL!] and used UNO to replaced it and began to munch on some chips. pro right? lol. (:
thursday [[23/11]]
as usual; blah blah, reached school and we climbed up the 'mountains' to their sports stadium - the same place as their flag-raising ceremony. we sat down as a group at 'my class' - 408; as there were many empty spaces there. -.- around 11.30. we left the place and went to eat lunch at their canteen. after that we head towards macau. due to some problems, our teachers postponed the journey to macau to the next day. thus the teachers used the remaining time to bring us to the biggest bookstore in zhuhai - same place as i went to with sissie. i bought another 4 books there. -.- i guess i onli spend less den S$30 for all the 6 books i've bought. :D went back to the hotel to eat dinner. oh yah. we 24 people, are divided into 3 groups respectively. our grp; 'xi le zu', is a rice group; 'ren ai zu', is a water group and 'he ping zu' is a prawn group. lol. we went back to our hotel room respectively. nvr played 'dai di' today. too tired and teacher scolded us. =X
friday [[24/11]]
i shall not crap anymore; its the same old boring freaking routine everyday. we watched a bit of their sports day before leaving at 10.30 to the journey to macau. first time ever in my life, i ate the red circle circle thingy called 'bing tang hu lu'. it taste simply great! yumyum. x) a sweet taste followed after a sour taste lingering inside ur mouth after ur first bite. oh no; my saliva is dripping down again. lol! we ate our lunch on the bus - macdonalds! (: soon, we reached gongbei port. after a few more hours of checking in to macau and stuff, we finally reached macau! we visited lots of places. some included the historical museum, the richest gambler's house in macau and etc. during the last one and a half hours, we have our 'free and easy' time to shop around macau - 'da san ba'. i bought some macau's local product home - almond cakes. their egg tarts rocks big time too! actually i wanted to buy a few boxes of egg tarts home but i cant as they will turn smelly. how i wish i can order a few boxes of egg tarts home and transport them directly to singapore using the famous 'Fedex', not forgetting the 'bing tang hu lu' too! LOL! after shopping, we used another one hour or so checking out of macau and going back to zhuhai. we have to wait for another hour due to some problems. the weather at night is damn cold at zhuhai. i covered my head using my jacket hat and used another scarf [eileen's] to wrap around me. lol! i look like an indian lady. Lol. thus eileen covered her head using her jacket hat and we began to report on the weather of zhuhai at the gongbei port. we referred ourselves as an indian lady and a lady from antarctica. LOL! had lots and lotsa of fun and began snapping photos. finally we went to eat dinner. everyone was like gobbling up their food like nobody's business. Lol. cos maybe its the first time that we ate dinner at such a late time - 8.30pm. as normally we ate at around 5.30pm. hahahaha. did not play 'dai di' today too. busy decorating and writting a farewell letter + farewell present for my buddy; sissie.
saturday [[25/11]]
same as before. brush teeth, wash face and had our breakfast. we took a bus to 'yuan ming xing yuan' - a place which depicts a palace of the olden days; which was rebuilt after it was being demolished. however that place only opens at 10am. thus, we went to another place [forgot wads that place called]. sissie and me went boating, ate ice-creams, rollar-blading under the drizzle rain, blow bubbles and laughed together. :] during lunchtime, both of our buddies and us went separate ways - back to school and back to hotel respectively. all 24 of us went to rest after lunch b4 we started preparing for the farewell party later during evening time. around 2.30pm, all of us wore the school blazer, school skirts and pants and waited at the hotel lobby. "we looked smart!" one of our teacher commented. we reached the school not long after and started rehearsing. we were in a total mess! fortunately, the performance was not too bad. hope that we din disappoint our teachers. we ate dinner after the farewell party together with our respective buddies at the school canteen. we went to play basketball at the basketball court. it was awesome! haha. this time round i was not injured. lol. mr potato watched us playing bball. -.- we went back to the hotel after the game. to my surprise, sissie came and look for me in the hotel while i was bathing. :D felt so happy and touched! xb we playerd 'dai di' together with huiyu and wanning in mai room. x) the person who lose each round has to sing a chinese pop song. lol. around 10pm, we bid sissie goodbye as i send her down to the hotel lobby. went off to sleep shortly after that.
sunday [[26/11]]
the last day we have to stay in 'golden holiday hotel'; the last day we can last see our buddies again. after breakfast, we moved our lugguages down to the hotel lobby. not long after, some of our buddies and the teachers from the No.3 middle school zhuhai came to send us off. unexpectedly, my buddy came too~ she gave me a present - a wishing bottle and a hand-made scarf. i felt really really touched as she knitted the scarf by herself. at that moment, i felt a sour sensation at my nose and my tears almost dropped, but i tolerated as i onli want sissie to rmb my happy face. but she cried. we exchanged hugs. everyone was reluctant to leave each other although we were together for only a short period of seven days - one week. i ran up the bus b4 my tears fell down. when the bus left the hotel, the atmosphere was solemn and quiet. only sounds of crying were heard. a touching scene, tears were shed and we could almost flood the entire Yellow River. we reached guangzhou after a few hours. visited the historical museum of sun zhong san and 'bao mo yuan'. fortunately, everyone began to felt much better. we were given 2 hours to shop around guangzhou after the tour. i felt a tinge of happiness as i bought a pair of sneakers, a watch, one VCD and some small small souvenirs for my friends. followed after, we went to a grand restaurant for dinner. everyone did not eat much. finally after everything, we went to Rosedale hotel - po li jiu dian; the place that we're going to sleep for that night.
monday [[27/11]]
nothing much. breakfast was finally much much better as there were bacon and eggs. and a wide variety of foods and drinks. checking in at guangzhou's airport; flying off to singapore. and thats the end of the cultural exchange programme. felt sad la. really miss it though, but i hope that they could come singapore another time. :] yup and I believe we can. If you think you can, you can! X)
